Well Child Checks

During the first two years of life, your baby will be seen frequently for well child checks. We will check your baby’s growth and development during these visits along with a complete physical. It is a good time for parents to ask questions about infant care and health while they are in the office. At 3 years, children are seen yearly to check growth, development, blood pressure, vision, hearing, and to address other health related questions. We provide anticipatory guidance regarding safety, injury prevention, nutrition, behavior, sleep, digestion and development at the visits. We will also address other issues specific to your child. At these visits we encourage you to bring whatever forms you may need for daycare/school/sports participation.

We limit daily well child checkup appointments to allow time to see sick children. For this reason, we ask that you call 6-8 weeks in advance to schedule a routine well child check for your child. If you are unsure when the next check-up for your child is due, please call the office and we will be happy to assist you. We recommend parents schedule their next appointment before they leave the office, if the physician schedule is available at that time.

If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please call our office as soon as possible to cancel so we may use the time to treat other patients. If you do not cancel and do not keep an existing appointment three times, you will be asked to find another pediatric practice. If you are late for a scheduled appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.
